Hi Mayu and Laurie! I was thinking about people who tatoo poetry on thier bodies and how scared I would be to do that. The clearest place to try. The second line of the poem was on my palm. It is part of the Rumi poem translated by Stephen Mitchell:
A mountain keeps an echo deep inside itself That's how I hole your voice.
Maybe we can start doing temporary tatoos for the holidays! Good idea Laurie :)
Hi Jeanine, I really love the silver and leather bracelet you have on in this photo. Can you tell me more about it? I can't tell if it's leather between the silver rings or if they're beads. Is this part of your collection? If not, where did you find it? I love it! Marissa
Hi Marissa, the bracelet is from Bali and it is by a designer we used to carry in our store. His name is Lou Zeldis and he is a truly eccentric man who's look reminds me of Father Time. It is a single piece of leather with silver half round links clamped onto it. I would try De Vera in NY and San Francisco http://www.deveraobjects.com--I know they used to carry his work and might still along with Barneys.
You do hands too?:D I'll have to bring mine in the next time I'm in SF!!

I meant to say that the clearest and easiest for me to write something was my hand.
ReplyDeleteI've given that necklace (Emily I think?) to my boyfriend who lives there! Maybe I can fly out X-mas time for hand tattoo?!
ReplyDeleteDon't mean to be pushy (I've mentioned it before) but I think you'll really want to read a recent blog entry of mine ....

ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanine! Out of curiosity, how thick is it? I've never seen leather that thick before!
ReplyDeleteMarissa
It is round leather cord that is about half inch diameter. It really is an unusual piece. I am sorry we don't have any more here! JP
