My fingers emit sparks of fire with expectation of my future labours. -Blake

Rivera ring, August 08, sans engraving

When I started engraving words into jewelry I was in my early 20's. I have been challenged and stretched in following this thread for all this time. Now I am curious to turn the creative page and see what I will make in my early 40's as a new mother and with the good fortune to have supportive followers who have been so positive the entire time I have been designing and putting myself out there. It has long been known that risk is essential to creativity, without risk, the danger of repetition robs the work of new, fresh ideas. I think these times we are living in demand new ideas, new ways of looking at things. I hope my work inspires those who wear it, and I am ready to feel that same inspiration of the new as an artist.

  2. Jeanine,

I've been an ardent fan since your beginnings -- I'm a writer, and I bought one of the first "My fingers emits sparks" rings -- it's one of my greatest treasures. Keep taking those risks and living that dream; we love the results!

  3. I have to tell you of an obsession I have had over this poem and ring. "My fingers emit sparks of fire with great expectations of my future labors." The first time I saw your creation was in Catalina at a really cute shop, Gallagher, I think. The detail of the metal work and almost nail like connector. I fell in love with it (that was 2003) And still, I obsess over it. I search for that ring on line to this day to possibly buy but rarely find a crumb. When I do which sadly has been a few years since I have seen one for sale anywhere, I look at the price and my heart sinks, because it is several trips to the grocery store in my real life translation..:)oh well, maybe the accumulation of my future labors will bring forth the coin to buy the ring. :) thanks for the inspiration and the love affair:)

  4. Loretta, I clearly remember this ring you are talking about and unfortunately it has been retired a while back. The good news is that you can always have that special engraved onto any piece you like when you are ready to pull the trigger :)

  6. Dear Jeanine,

My day finally came!!! My loving husband surprised me with the ring on my birthday in July. Some how he got his hands on the last one on the face of the internet! I love it, it is beautiful. And a dream come true...
